The Blogger Interview Tag with Rachel!

Hi! How are you? Welcome to Touch Of Belle! Let's talk a little bit about your blog! Could you tell us a bit about yourself?
Hey there, my name is Rachel Farrell and vintage loving, tea drinking, book reading teen blogger from Ireland. I'm an aspiring journalist and stylist, so blogging is a great way to express my love for all things fashion and beauty! I'm also a self confessed shopaholic and nail art fanatic.

How old are you?
I'm 15 years old!

How and Why did you start your blog?
I started blogging a year ago, after reading numerous fashion and beauty blogs for years. I really wanted to practice my writing for future purposes and also share my love of fashion! As I progressed, so did my blog, and I'm pleased to say I was a finalist for Best Youth blog in the Blog Awards Ireland this year, which was a huge surprise!
What's your favourite thing about blogging?
I love receiving the lovely comments people post on my blog. It really encourages me and has boosted my confidence alot. It makes me want to read more and make my readers happy! Writing is a passion of mine, so the fact that i can blog whenever I want on my little corner of the internet is great.

What is your favourite post to write?
Thats a tough one.. either my outfit of the days or my nails!

How long have you been blogging for?
I created my blog in May 2012 however I didn't properly start blogging until around Christmas. So about 10 months.

If you could describe your style in one word, what would it be?
Classy

Where or who do you look to for style inspiration?
I look to fellow bloggers for inspiration, without doubt! The internet has a big influence. I also love tumblr and pinterest for outfit ideas. Alexa Chung, Marina Diamandis and Audrey Hepburn are where I get my ideas from, however I create my style myself.

What are your must have products?
Nail polish and lipstick. I would die without them.

What do you enjoy most about blogging?
[basically the same as my favorite thing about blogging above]

Finally, do you have any advice or helpful tips you could give to new bloggers just starting out?
I would recommend using twitter, and participating in twitter chats, its great for networking! Try not to post generic posts. Be individual, take clear photos, spellcheck and BE YOU!

Anne De Jeunesse Hydrating facial cream

Anne de Jeunesse is a relatively new brand whose products are specifically aimed at people in their 20's.  I love the packaging of their products they come in a bright pink box with white writing and a white tube with pink writing!

The scent is quite heavy and smells of rose, which personally I like but if your not a fan of rose scented products you can't smell it after the cream has been absorbed. I love the way this cream makes my skin feel, it feels refreshed and soft.

My skin is quite dry especially in the winter but I found that the cream isn't the best for hydrating my skin, although I think this will be better for a summer cream as I don't usually require high moisturising in the summer.

I think this cream is perfect for all skin types and is great for making my skin feel smooth and soft!

Have you tried this brand before? Let me know below!

Denman Roaring Ruby!

I love the design of this brush it’s a ruby red colour with a 1920's pin up girl design on the back of the brush, its certainly eye catching and I LOVE it!

I have really thick hair and a lot of it! but this brush is great at getting all my knots and tangles out, its also great at styling wet or dry hair which unlike some of my other brushes keeps my hair frizz free! This little beauty of a brush is also limited edition which you can buy here.

The cost of the brush is £7.50 which I think is a great price as it really is such a good brush and great for using on the go!

Have you tried any Denman products before? Let me know below!

The 2014 Blogger challenge - food!

I love decorating cupcakes, weather its for a special occasion or just for fun these sheep decorations are adorable!

Ingredients:
Six white marshmallows
Small white marshmallow
Black Icing or chocolate chip
6 Cupcakes (with no decoration)
100g of Sofened Butter
225g of icing sugar
1 tbsp of water

Method
To make the buttercream, sift the icing sugar.  Beat the butter until creamy in an electric mixer, then gradually beat in the icing sugar. Finally beat in the tablespoon of water.
Spread a layer of buttercream over the cupcakes using a palette knife and making a small mound of buttercream in the centre.
Cut the mini marshmallows in half. Arrange them in two circles around the edge of the cakes.
Cut the large marshmallows in half. Place one half on top of the mound of buttercream for the face.
Cut the other half of the marshmallow in half again and place on either side of the sheep’s face for the ears – the marshmallow ears will stick naturally as the cut sides of the marshmallows are very sticky. Arrange some halved mini marshmallows on the top and behind the sheep’s head.
Draw eyes and noses on the sheep’s face using the black Writing Icing.
And they you have it your own decorated sheep cupcakes!

The Blogger Interview Tag with Claire!

How old are you?

I am currently 18 (and a half- my birthday is in march)

How and Why did you start your blog?

I started it on a bit of a whim one night after following bloggers like Rebecca from d is for dangerous and Olivia from what Olivia did for a few months. I knew it was something I wanted to get involved in but wasn't sure I had enough material but when I decided to go for it I found I had loads to say. I didn't even know what blogger was… I thought the site was probably called blogspot (you can see why).

What's your favourite thing about blogging?

I like having an online diary that I can look back on and the fact that I have followers now is just a bonus. I have also talked to some really great people and hopefully will meet some local bloggers soon.

What is your favourite post to write?

I like doing outfit of the day posts. Thats why I started in the first place. I have also found it's a great place to share my passion for baking. That is a lot of fun showing people what I've made and the feedback I get is so lovely.

How long have you been blogging for?

I started in January 2013 so thats only been 9 months. I still feel like a new blogger because there is loads of people out there with way more experience.

If you could describe your style in one word, what would it be?

Girly... I like dresses and floral patterns. I wear heels when ever I can- I am trying to be more varied in what I wear though.

Where or who do you look to for style inspiration?

I'm a big magazine reader- I love company but I also pick up shops magazines and leaflets where I can. I would say they are as much of an inspiration as other bloggers are. Love seeing things and thinking 'ooh I would never of thought of wearing those together' I love finding new ways to wear the same thing.

What are your must have products?

I'm a big fan of tea tree for my skin- I use tea tree facial wipes (bought from home bargains and lidl) and the body shops tea tree skin clearing location on a daily basis. I also love anything by soap and glory and use their moisturisers all the time.

What do you enjoy most about blogging?

As cliched as it sounds I love the community. Post a question on twitter and you'll get an answer or someone to talk to. I've not encountered negativity yet and I've been lucky to always get positive feedback. Blogging has helped me to develop my style and ways to use my wardrobe more effectively.

Finally, do you have any advice or helpful tips you could give to new bloggers just starting out?
Get involved in blogger chats on twitter as soon as you can and learn from other bloggers. Don't be scared to talk to someone because most bloggers are lovely. Learn from other peoples advice and remember that views and followers don't happen over night. For months my posts were only getting about 5 views (I thought that was huge) but now I really appreciate how far I've come. Lastly DON'T be the person that asks to be followed (you won't get very far)

Farmaline Review

Recently I was contacted by Farmaline to see if I would like to try out some of their products they stock... so of course I happily accepted and within a matter of days I recieved a lovely parcel full of goodies.

Farmaline are an online pharmacy who stock all the European skincare brands that are harder to purchase or find in stock here in the UK.  Brands such as Bioderma, La Roche Posay and Lierac.  There are plenty others too!

Farmaline Lip balm, £2.54

A lovely little handy balm that's very moisturising and makes my lazy days so much better. It’s the perfect size for popping in your handbag to keep your lips moisturised on the go!

Lierac Sensorielle Gel Douche, £9.15

I only needed a small size amount of the product and it lathered up really well. It has a anti-dehydration effect and my skin actually did feel more hydrated for longer and it smells lovely!

EAU Thermale Avene, £15.18

This is such a lovely cream!!  It is designed for those who have dry prone skin and is designed for the whole family, with that in mind I gave a bit to my sister to try as she has eczema and I must say  it worked a treat!

EAU Thermale Avene
This is so nice and relaxing on your eyes! I find that if you put it in the fridge for a while then place on your eyes it reduces swelling and puffiness around your eyes! I think this would be perfect in the summer!

Make up Bag

This is a perfect size makeup bag and is big enough to fit several full sized products in!

Biocyte mask

This gave my skin a great glow after using it, its really refreshing and leaves your skin looking and feeling great!

Revision Help!

I don't think anyone actually enjoys revising. Learning, yes ok, but re-learning and trying to get a ridiculous amount of information to stick in your head somehow, no thanks.
I thought I'd share with you just a few tips I've picked up over the years of revision that hopefully might help :)

1. Organise yourself.
Do this before you even think about started to revise. Put your work into order, or into subject/module folders. Then you can see what you're missing and also how much you have to revise. This alone normally stops me from panicking too much.

2. Get what you need.
Folders, missing work, post-it notes, some comfortable coloured pens and some notebooks with lined paper.

3. Find your best way of revising.
People really do work in different ways. I personally like to get an overview of every single topic done first and as I do them, pin or stick them on my wall. This gives me a visual aid and I can see how much I have done. Some people prefer to keep everything in one notebook (or one for each module) or to fit everything they know about one topic onto one A4 side of paper. Mindmaps (however 'primary school' this may seem are normally quite good for most people).

4. Past papers.
Ask your teachers or lecturers for these if you can't find them online. They give you practice for the real exam as well as giving you a good idea of what might come up in the exam.

5. Test Yourself/Talk about it.
I find this is one of the best ways to get facts to stick in my mind after doing the outlines and past papers. Don't let yourself look at the work until you've given a question a good go, when testing yourself. Talk over theories you have to learn with your friends (even those who aren't doing the subject) as it helps organise things in your own mind and improves your explanation skills.

6. Don't overwork.
Don't expect to sit at your desk all day! You need breaks. Don't work for more than an hour at a time as your revision won't be as effective.

7. The day before the exam...
Drink plenty of water and go to bed as early as possible. Eat a good meal, a scrummy pasta dish is good if you can. Make sure you have everything you need for your exam (including a water bottle) ready in a bag by the door (one less thing to worry about) and read over simple summaries of work so you don't panic yourself.

I hope this has been of some use to you, Good Luck!

Fake Tattoos Nail art review

Fake tattoos come with cute nail stickers that are so handy and easy to use! The designs they have are bows, hearts, crowns, Anchors, ice cream, Palm trees and fish!

I love having nail art on my nails but I hate having to go through the whole process but these are simple you just take the design you want, peel it off and place on your nails!

I find the stickers last longer if you stick them on then apply a clear coat of nail varnish on top as it helps to seal and keep the stickers on for longer!

I would definitely recommend these are they are a great quick way of doing a bit of nail art!

Have you tried these before? let me know below!
