18 things before 18 - What I have done so far!

Back in October I did a post called 18 things to do before I'm 18, you can see the original post here.
I have already done a few things on my list so I thought I would share some of the things I have ticked off! Here is my original list with the things crossed out that I have done:

1.      Become less shy

Although Its hard to be specific in telling that you have become less shy, I have really opened up and have found myself talking to everyone, before I would be scared to ask for a drink! I recently had to do a presentation at college, which before would terrify me, to then say I got a A* and did the best in the class in something I am so proud of!

2.      Get all my coursework done on time and at a grade of B and above (work in progress I still have a few assignments left until my Birthday!)
3.      Re watch all of my DVD's (I have quite a few!)
4.      Try a new food

5.      Make new memories
I recently went on a cruise and I have so many memories from it!

6.      Write a diary at least once a week
7.      Do something I haven't done before
On my recent holiday I went to Amsterdam, among other places, whilst we were there we took a trip to a little village around 30 minutes away from the centre of Amsterdam, here we watched cloggs being made, we brought some home and we have started to decorate them, which I have loved doing!

8.      Get a job/ work experience in photography

9.      Make new friends
Like I said before I recently went on a cruise and I have made some lifelong friends who I talk to everyday!

10.  Stay up all night

11.  Do something that makes me happy
Travelling makes me extremely happy, I feel so comfortable and at home travelling to new places, I have been extremely lucky to have been to some amazing places in my life, and to have been to some amazing places this year makes me so grateful.

12.  Make my family and myself proud
The one thing that has made myself and my family really proud recently is getting an A* in my speaking exam, I have never been someone who has been confident in talking in front of groups to then turn it around and come out with an A* was truly amazing.

13.  Become more independent
I feel like I have become a lot more independent recently I haven't relied on my parents as much to do things for me.

14.  Appreciate the little things in life
I have always been one to appreciate things no matter how big or small, but I have recently started a series called "because I'm happy" which I post about every Friday with the little things that have made me happy that week!

15.  Make someone else happy ( I have made a few people happy recently, but I want to see what else I do before I tick it off!

16.  Keep my room tidy

17.  Start saving my money
I am trying to save up for a few things at the moment, so every bit of money I get I have been saving!

18.  Visit somewhere new!
Like I said at the start of this post I have been extremely lucky to visit some extraordinary places this year, I have recently come back off a holiday to Oslo, Norway. I have been to Norway before but never Oslo and it was the most beautiful city, everyone was so friendly. I also went to Amsterdam and Antwerp which again were amazing places to visit and some I hope to visit again!

Sponsored Post: Christmas Time!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year.. Can you tell I can't wait for Christmas?! But its not quite Christmas until the Christmas adverts come on! One of my favourites this year is the Very advert, which you can watch below.

So I thought I would get into the Christmas spirit and share some of my favourite things about Christmas!

1.       I love spending time with all my family and friends, nothing beats having all your family round you. This really comes across in Very's advert as Fearne and her friends are having fun in a really creative way!

2.       Seeing everyone open their presents, for me this is one of the best things, seeing people open the presents you have chosen is such a lovely feeling!

3.       Christmas films, if there is one thing that gets me in the Christmas spirit, its sitting down and watching the classic Christmas films! My favourite 3 are Grinch, Elf and Nativity, let me know what your favourites are below!

4.       Christmas chocolates, I don't know about you but every year my family buys the same chocolates, Quality streets, roses and after 8's! I love sitting down in front of the fire, watching a Christmas film whilst munching on chocolate!

5.       Christmas songs, it wouldn't be Christmas without the classics on the radio to get you in the festive spirit!

So these are a few of my favourite things about Christmas, Let me know in the comments below what your favourites are and what you are most looking forward to!

I wouldn't say I have actually been "In Love" I have had school girl crushes and speak to all my ex boyfriends.

First Aeroplane ride..
I have never actually been on a plane (I know shock Horror!) But I have always travelled to places by boat.

First broken bone…
I broke my arm after someone pushed me over playing benchball, trying to do an art gcse with a broken arm was not much fun!

First piercing…
Ears it was the summer before I went into year 10 that I had it done, I haven't had anything else pierced and don't plan too!

First sport…
I loved sport at school, I was in all the teams but don't know which one I did first, probably gymnastics!

First concert…
My first concert, was when I was 10 I went to the big gig which is a girlguiding gig.

First fear…
This is still a major fear for me, I am terrified of needles ever since I can remember, I have tried everything to stop my fear, I have spoken to nurses, had numerous injections (Because I needed them) but I'm still terrified and will scream my head off if someone comes near me with one! The thought of it makes me feel ill!

Better than sex Mascara

The Too faced better than sex mascara* has been hyped about so much in the blogosphere. I really like the sleek, pink metallic packaging, I also really like the hourglass shaped brush as I find it separates and slightly curls my lashes.

The only problem I found with the brush was that it picks up slightly too much product so I have to get rid of the excess product before I apply it to my lashes.

I found that it doesn't clump or make my eyelashes feel dry and flaky like some mascaras do and it doesn't run or smudge throughout the day even though its not a waterproof mascara – its also really easy to get off with warm water and a flannel.

The first layer made my eyelashes look more defined and made them look longer, two layers made my eyelashes look really long and volumized. After 2 coats I think my lashes started to look slightly clumpy so I would only recommend two coats are perfect.

Have you tried this mascara before? What did you think? Let me know in the comments below!

Christmas Beauty Gift Guide!

1&2 – I am sure you have all heard of Zoella beauty, and if you haven't where have you been?! These would make a great present for anyone who likes girly fragrances!

3 – I couldn't not include this! I love daisy dream, it is one of my favourite Marc Jacob fragrances, it’s a little more expensive but I would say its completely worth it!

4 – I don't have this lipstick… yet! But I am lusting over it, I have swatched it in store and it is the perfect shade for this time of year and would make a great Christmas present for the lucky lady in your life!

5 - Essie have a great range of nail polishes, if this shade isn't for you, then maybe try another shade. You can't go far wrong with essie!

6 – This is another lip product that is great for this time of year and would make a great Christmas present or even stocking filler!

I hope you enjoyed this post! Let me know in the comments below what's on your Beauty Christmas Wishlist!

Sponsored Post: Moroccanoil - Inspiration

This video is about 6 amazing women who have turned inspiration in their life into actions to help others. Moroccanoil have told each individual story to celebrate women and their achievements. Watch the video below to see little snippets about the stories of each of the women.

I'm inspired by so many things, whether it be something someone has done or said that inspires me to aim higher and achieve more. Recently I have been inspired by the Youtuber and Blogger that is Zoella (aka Zoe Sugg), and how she has been raising awareness for mental health, she has recently joined the Charity MIND to help air her voice even more and to inspire people to learn about it and to stop all the stigma that surrounds mental health, so many people are affected by mental illnesses and Zoe is getting the message out that your not alone.

I think it is important for young girls to have a female role model like Zoella that inspires them to do THEIR best and to think about others, whether its someone like a female family member that helps out at a local charity group or a celebrity who fights for the rights of others. One of my main inspirations in my life is my mum, and how she always puts others first, she helps out with charity events and when I did my 20 mile canoe challenge for Breast cancer research she was there supporting me, collecting donations and running a raffle all to help change the future of someone else.

Why not check out Moroccanoil's website and Facebook page.

How to look after your lashes!

I have put together a few tips that you can use to look after your lashes.

Add moisture back into your lashes!

Mascaras can really dry your lashes out and take all the natural oils away, if you wear mascara daily and really layer it on you will probably find your lashes are very dry and tend to fall out and break. Once you have removed all your makeup at night I use a very small amount of Vaseline and just coat the eyelashes, in the morning my lashes feel really moisturised, you will also find if you do this everyday your mascara goes on a lot better!

Use an oil based make up remover to get rid of eye makeup!

When you throw on wear lots of mascara regularly, you will often find that whilst your taking your makeup off your lashes can have the tendency to fall out. By using an oil based remover it starts to break down the makeup instantly which is a great way to gently remove all of you eye makeup, without tugging at your lashes.

Bin your mascaras out every 3-6 months!

Mascaras get drier the more you use them, the average mascara lasts around 3-6 months, to keep your lashes looking and feeling great this is a step not to miss! Nearly every beauty blogger knows this but it really is important as the dry mascara strips your lashes of natural oils!

What tricks do you use to keep your lashes in tip top condition?

W7 Blush!

I'm a lover of a good bargain especially when it comes to makeup, who doesn't love getting a good quality product for a few pounds?!

I love this blusher* it is one of the best I have tried I have the shade born pretty and its part of their blush baby range. The colour is a very natural blush colour and is matte so it doesn't have any little glitter parts in it which I personally like. The texture is really soft and makes it easy to apply and you only need a small amount to get a good natural coverage, I normally swirl my brush around a few times then tap off the excess then apply.

I have found the staying power was very good with only a little fading throughout the day. This blush is available online at http://www.w7cosmetics.co.uk/ for £4.95 I really would recommend this to anyone who wants a good quality blusher that lasts throughout the day.

Have you tried w7 makeup before? Let me know in the comments below.

Elizabeth Arden Beautiful colour moisturising lipstick in Fig 38

The Elizabeth Arden beautiful colour moisturising lipsticks are available in 24 different shades, the one I am reviewing is in the shade Fig 38*.The lipstick is housed in a gold lipstick square  with rectangles and squares embossed into the metal. The packaging is very luxe and makes you want to use it in public!

The lipstick is quite creamy in texture when you apply it, so I found it a easy to apply as it just glides on, once its on your lips it isn't drying in the slightest and I found it very moisturising so this would be great for the colder months! This lipstick is so pigmented and leaves you with an opaque coverage in a single application. The colour lasts around 5 hours without fading or transferring.

The colour is a very deep berry colour and will be perfect for this time of year and I think would suit most skin tones, I'm quite pale and I really like this lipstick on me.

Have you tried any Elizabeth Arden lipsticks before? Let me know what you think below!

Your Dream Catcher Jogging Bottoms

First of all let me say that dream catcher designs are one of my favourite things, I don't know what but from a very young age I have always loved them and always had one by my bed, I was so excited when I was contacted by your dream catcher to review one of their items, I picked their jogging bottoms as I love being comfortable and they looked great!

When they arrived and I first tried them I loved the feel of the material It's so warm and fluffy on the inside which makes the perfect for lounging round in or to wear out, what I like about them is on the angles they are elasticated, I really liked this I have never had jogging bottoms like this before but actually found it really comfy and kept me nice and warm! The waist of the joggers are almost string like, where you tie the string to the tightness you want, this would be great for someone who likes to be able to choose the tightness, but personally I like elasticated tops as I find they stay put! I still found that they stayed but for me I would have preferred elasticated tops.

The design is probably my favourite thing along with the comfort as it is so simply yet eye catching… see what I did there ;) I love how the colours are quite simply, the actually joggers are grey and the design in black, light grey and dark grey.

These would be great for anyone who likes to be comfy but likes to wear something that still has style! You can view the whole range at http://www.yourdreamcatcher.co.uk/ Have you tried anything from your dream catcher before? Let me know what you think in the comments!
