New makeup routine and haul

Back in the middle of December I completely changed my makeup routine as I was fed up with using the same products and I feel like my skin was getting quite bad. So one night I went on a massive superdrug haul!

My first purchase was the Maybelline baby skin instant fatigue blur in warm apricot. This honestly leaves my skin so smooth and helps me apply my foundation. What I also like about this product is for those days when you don’t want to wear any makeup I just put a bit of this on and it just makes me look a bit more awake!

The next thing I decided to switch up was my foundation, I used to love my Rimmel matching perfection but the last few months I have just hated the way it looks and felt on my skin. I’m not sure why but I knew I needed a change so I decided to go for the L’oreal Infallible 24hour matte foundation. I am seriously in love with this foundation and I’m so glad I got it! I love the way it feels on my skin it doesn’t feel heavy and it makes my skin look really nice. Another thing I like about it is that it is a full coverage which means I don’t actually need concealer which is a pro in the morning as anything that speeds up the makeup process is a winner!

To apply my foundation I used to use a buffing brush but in my little (actually rather big haul) I brought myself the real techniques complexion sponge. I find this works best when it is damp as it gives a really nice flawless finish. The only downside is it is a nightmare to clean!

Next up was Tanya Burr’s rosy flush cheek palette. I mainly only use the blush (Pretty Peony) and the highlight (Oyster Shell) and I love how natural it looks. It gives the perfect amount of product and adds a really subtle highlight, which I love. I also use a bit of the blush sometimes as an eye shadow and the highlighter under my brow. Then for mascara I just use the Maybelline the falsies.

Then to set that all in place I use the L’oreal Infallible fixing mist, which works really well. It also means I don’t need to use any powder which I like. I have been loving this new combination of products and my skin has been a lot better aswell.

Recent Film Loves

This last month I have really been enjoying watching films in my free time, so today I thought I would share some of my favourites!

Bridesmaids:
This is such a funny film and one of those films you can just sit back and watch without it having a deep meaning behind it. It is one of those films that is just easy to watch and makes you laugh at the same time!

In her Shoes:
This film came out in 2005 so it is an older film but you can’t tell by the quality. Again this is a funny film about two sisters who at first don’t see eye to eye so the whole film is about learning about themselves and each other and It is such a great film.

The Mockingjay Part 1:
I have been obsessed with the whole franchise of these films, I loved reading the books and the films are just as good! I wouldn’t say its my favourite of the 3 (I haven’t seen part 2 yet) but it is still really good and its one of those films that you don’t get tired of watching.

Divergent/insurgent:
I loved this series! I recently got these DVD’s for my birthday and I watched them straight away I was so excited to see them and it certainly lived up to my expectations! It is action packed and is quite similar to the Hunger Games so if you liked that but haven’t seen these definitely give them a watch!

I hope you enjoyed this little post! Let me know in the comments what films you would recommend!

What I do on a lazy day

For the last few weeks I have been in a pretty bad mood, I just haven’t felt like myself and I over Christmas all I could think about was all the uni work I had. Most of us at some point in our lives will have hit a wall and feel a bit down in the dumps, my favourite way to have a little pick me up is to have a relaxing lazy day so I thought I would share some of the things I do to cheer me up!

Watching films: anyone who knows me well knows that I love watching films and could spend hours upon hours watching them. I love putting a good film on and just getting really into it. I always take a selection of DVD’s into my room on lazy days and just work my way through them!

Fluffy PJ’s: The whole point of a lazy day is being comfortable, so I pick out my cosiest PJ’s and some fluffy socks and then get ready to relax!

Snacks: With the movie marathon I am about to have I like to have a selection of snacks to munch on while making my way through the many films I have planned for the day! My normal choices would be popcorn, crisps and some chocolate. I also like to make big mug of hot chocolate… yummy!

Fairy Lights: I put all my fairy lights on in my room and sometimes light a few candles to make it feel super relaxed and chilled!

Facemasks: Now I don’t always do facemasks on a relaxing day but most times I do! I like to do it in the evening when I have finished my films as I don’t like to have to get up and take it off in the middle of a good film!

I love having relaxing days and I hope you have enjoyed seeing what I get up to on a lazy day! Let me know in the comments what you get up too!

Lipstick Storage

I own quite a few lipsticks, I know to many of you it won’t be a lot but I love my little collection and so I thought the time had come to buy some proper lipstick storage!

I brought my storage online from amazon and it only cost me £1.99 with free postage so I couldn’t say no! I wasn’t expecting the quality to be up to much considering the price but I was pleasantly surprised and it is actually made really well and is very sturdy.

It comfortably holds 24 lipsticks which for me at the moment is plenty and it just means my lipsticks look really organised and are much easier to find with them all being in the same place. I can’t wait to start adding to my collection of lipsticks!

Let me know what you use to store your makeup/ lipsticks in the comments below!
