Picture Perfect Polaroids*

Summer is a great time to show off your home, the garden is full of flowers that are looking the best and everywhere just looks better with that summer sun shining through! I was recently send a Instax Mini* To show off my house and share the images with you! I decided on the colour light blue and I love the colour, it is definitely a summer colour!

Here are some of the images I have taken, I had so much fun organising my rooms and making sure I got the perfect picture, this was also the first time I have ever used a Instax Mini so I loved learning all about it and it was so much fun to take the picture and instantly have a printed version.
I think now a days it is all too easy to take thousands of pictures on digital cameras but never get around to having them printed and I think it is really important to have printed photos and cherish the memories from them.

I take massive pride in my house and love to share off all the new interior products, so getting the chance to actually appreciate my house in photos was a really great experience!
Recently I have been redecorating and just adapting my house to reflect more of my personality and I think this shows in the pictures, I love the picture of my garden and think its a really cute photo!

This post is in conjunction with a project from Ocean Loans, the main aim of the project is to celebrate our homes this summer and to take pride in every element from the garden to your office! Our homes can offer so many great pictures from family pictures from your living room to wildlife photography in your garden.

I hope you enjoyed this post! What is your favourite place in your home and where would you take a photo if you could choose anywhere? Let me know in the comments!

*Disclaimer, I was sent the Instax Mini to use to take images around my home but all views and words in the post are my own*

Dropping out of University

I like to think of myself as a very positive person. I always try and look on the bright side and appreciate the small things in life that make me happy. This past year has been one of my worst years, I dreaded getting up in the mornings and I just felt pretty crap and miserable. I was constantly stressed out over exams and coursework deadlines and I slowly started to stop seeing my friends. I was not myself at all and this was clear to everyone around me, except me.

Deep down I knew where all the feelings were coming from but I didn’t want to admit it and let myself down but most importantly anyone else down. I had been struggling with university for the majority of the year and although I love all the friends I made there I couldn’t find one other positive thing about the course.

I decided I will not be returning to university and I think it is going to be the best decision I have made. I already feel like myself again and a massive weight has been lifted, I’m not ruling out ever going back to university but for the minute I don’t want to return and that’s okay.

I’m not someone who gives up things lightly either I like to stick things out till the end but I have never ever been so unhappy in my life. My course was awful, tutors wouldn’t turn up and if you read my post about Poland you will know how the other students treated me.

I have realised that there is more to life than just studying and that’s okay! Not everyone will choose the same path in life, there are so many routes to get to the same place, it might take longer but you will still get there if you set your mind too it.

I know this is probably a bit of a rambly post but I thought I would share a life update to let you know where I am at. Life is too short so I’m not going to please others, I am going to start doing things that make me happy and get to be where I want to be regardless of what other people think.

My summer in pictures so far

Things to do this Summer

The UK weather is extremely unpredictable; we can go from having lovely sunny weather one minute to the next torrential rain! Today I thought I would share some of my top favourite things to do in the summer!

Go Crabbing | this is one of my all time favourite things to do, whether you go with family or friends! It’s such a cheap activity you only need to spent a couple of pound the first time you go then after that all you need is bait! I have honestly never laughed so much and have spent hours crabbing before!

Have a picnic | Pick your favourite place with your favourite people, take some music and nibbles and your set! It’s the perfect way to spend a sunny day and you can go all out or very minimal it’s completely your choice!

Go Explore | I like to get a map of the local area close my eyes and pick a place until I have a spot I have never been before and then just pack some lunch and head out for the day! It’s a great way to find some hidden gems! Why not go with friends to make it even more exciting?

Camping | I have already been camping this year volunteering as a guide leader and it was so much fun! You could even go local to you it doesn’t have to be far and just set up camp for the night, camp songs anyone?

Beach walks | If you are local to a beach it is such a perfect way to spend a summer’s day. Grab some fish and chips and play games on the beach, what could be better?

BBQ’s | Why not be a bit more experimental and try a cardboard box oven? It’s a great way to make cakes outdoors and they taste yummy! Invite over your friends and family and enjoy a chilled night in with music and drinks.

What have you got planned for summer? Leave me a comment and let me know!

Because I'm Happy!

Recently I have been extremely stressed, if you read my last post you will know why but I thought I would get back into my weekly Because I’m Happy posts to take time to focus on all the small things that make me smile!

v As strange as this may seem but working actually makes me really happy! I love my work team and get along with them all so well and also being able to pay my own way is a great!

v Going Camping, I love camping and have recently come back off Guide Camp where I volunteer as a leader.

v Relaxing and taking me time, this is so important to take time out for yourself!

v Going to the cinema on my own, for the very first time ever!

v Going bowling with my friends

v Painting my nails in a bright summery colour!

v Seeing my sister go to prom!

So these are some of the little things that have made me happy this week! I hope you enjoyed this little post. I would love to know what has made you happy this week!

Going to the Cinema Alone?!

Up until last week I had never gone to the cinema alone, I was always scared about walking up to the box office and asking for a ticket for one and always thought they would think I was a bit of a loner.

Going to the cinema is mainly associated with going with a friend or family. You can watch a film at home alone and enjoy it so why is that any different than going to the local cinema? Your not there to chat to a friend you are there to watch a film so why should it matter if you are there alone!

I arrived at the cinema and just waltzed in (Not literally but you get what I mean) got my ticket and then headed to the screen, I waited and waited for other people to arrive but still no one just me sat down in one little chair out of the whole room and then the lights went out and the film began… I was the only person in the whole cinema and you know what… I survived! I will be going to the cinema again I won’t ever feel like I can’t because others are busy or don’t want to see the film, If I really want to see it that just what I’m going to do!

I’m not the most confident person or someone who is super loud and outgoing so for me this was a big step but looking back I don’t see what all the stigma is about. Once I told my friends they all acted like it was a big thing or that they could never go on there own and I just don’t get where it comes from, if you want to go they why shouldn’t you?!

Let me tell you, the man selling me a ticket didn’t care I was on my own, he didn’t pull any faces or snigger he just sold me my ticket and then went to serve the next person in line.

If you are thinking about going on your own just do it! Let me know in the comments if you have ever been to the cinema alone or if you would ever go!
